Pulsar Builders,
I have a general question for those that painted their Pulsar themselves or those that had it done for them but know the product that was used. What paint finish product did you use? And, were you happy with the results or would you use something different if you had to do it all over again?
Thanks in advance to your responses.

I used Matrix products and was very happy with it. It's held up very well over 6 years.

PPG two part epoxy paint. Then color sanded it till it looked like plastic. Easy to touch up or make major repairs.

We used PPG Concept 2000 base coat and clear coat. It's 12 years old and looks as good as when we painted it. If I had to do it over again I would use a one coat process, the clear coat just made it heavy, could have saved 10-12 pounds.

I have used acrylic urethane for both Cars and planes and it works very well. Fairly easy to apply and repair if damaged. Minor scrapes can be buffed out, some chips can be repaired with a brush and color sanded to new.
The Imron is more for a professional to apply (dangerous stuff)but is extremely tough and a little more expensive. However if if you bang your plane hard enough to damage the paint you will probably dent the fuselage anyway.
My recommendation for do it your self painting is the acrylic urethane with the clear built in. PPG Concept is on my current Pulsar, Spies Hecker was used on the first and it was good but expensive. Most brands are pretty good but it's really the painter and lot's of hard work that makes them look great.
