I have a Yak 52 and have followed this post for 2 years. The depth of knowledge of this group is very interesting.
I know that this does not concern the yak community but I need to draw from your experiences regarding engine overhaul shops. I have a Seneca 3 with an engine problem. It is a high time engine so we are looking to overhaul it.
Any suggestions, good or bad would be helpful. My email address is peteabbott(at)aol.com (peteabbott(at)aol.com)
Thanks
Pete

I have had a Bonanza and a Turbo 210 to go thru OH's. Very good experience with Firewall Forward in Loveland Colorado. We took of the engine from he 210 an sent it to them. They did the OH, put Milleneum cylinders and Gami's on it. Sent it back and we did the install. They warranty the engine prorated to TBO - which says alot for the continental in the 210. At about 350 hours we had the camshaft AD problem that Continental had all the inspections and recalls. We did not want another shop tearing into the engine since we were pleased with Firewall Forward and their warranty. Continental paid to send the engine to Colorado and for them to do the work. They looked at the engine and extended our warranty to 1600 hours from that point. That engine now has over 1400 hours on it - Good compressions, no oil consumption, etc. It is operated according to Gami's guidelines - lean of peak. always at high altitudes out west - cruise usually at FL20-22.Sipping fuel at 55-60 lbs per hour. I can highly recommend their work. That engine was done in 1999-2000 and I have not had much contact with them since then.
