Cheers,
I tiled this solely to attract attention. Here I am, sitting in the
cockpit, trying to fit the instrument panel into the firewall for the fifth
time. It is constructed from a hint given by one of our early constructors
which permits the attachment by means of #10 x 32 bolts fastened to the
panel surround FORWARD through the firewall to be washered and nutted in the
914 engine compartment.
You may imagine the myriad of wires and connections waiting for
completion. All but one of these is achieved. The exception is a Rotax
cable, covered with the usual braided black plastic and holding four wires.
The end of the cable is a D-sub connector with wires #12, 24, 36 and 17
therein.
Can I find where it goes? These wires are not mentioned anywhere I
can find, but I have a stolen maintenance diagram without attachment details
which specify 12v in one and I forget the other three.
I started at seven this morning in the cool, and it's now noon and
upwards of 28 in brilliant sun, and I'm stymied.
If you can find the normally-provided circuit diagram which tells me
where to put it, or can remember yourself, I would be grateful and promise
to provide liquid stimulus at an up-coming banquet (yet to be determined.
The desparate need as the subject is the knowledge it's going to 31
celsius tomorrow.
Thanks in advance,
Ferg C-FFGG 914

Pins 12,24,36 and 17 are the serial interface for connecting to your computer. You need these to set the throttle position accurately.
I have clipped the attached out of my notes.
I hope this helps, let me know if you want more information
