I have a Russian built MTV-9-B-C prop on my Yak-18T, with Russian governor. At cruise MP of "6", I cannot get the RPM less than 72% in level flight, and it goes up to 80% in the descent. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks,

PJ

PJ,
I believe the MTV Prop requires a stronger spring in the prop governor.
Please contact the MTV folks in Florida (can't remember where in Florida
though) and ask them about it.

MT will have nothing to do with the Russian props since they were cheated on
royalties that were due!!
So it is a major problem to get these props overhauled.

I went through a long and drawn out discussion with MT directly
concerning this issue and strongly confirm what Richard said in his
message.
