I cannot let today go by without wishing G-YURO a Happy Birthday as it is 20
years ago today, as reported by Ivan, that G-YURO took to the skies for the
first time from Gamston.
As we know now the result was one of the finest light aircraft produced in
Britain and the numbers of Europas around the world are testament to the
success of this aircraft.
Well done to Ivan, Andy and the rest of the team and thanks for many years
of great enjoyment in the past and in the future.
Regards
Steve Pitt
Chairman Europa Club
PS I tried to send a photo but Matronics did not like the file format. Go to
flickr for a selection of photos of G-YURO

...And created a lot of favourable comments in the aviation press - which
again ignited many enthusiasts. Including myself..
I salute Ivan, Andy and all the others (definitely Neville!) for a job well
done. Pity this chap - whose name should not be mentioned - nearly ruined
the whole project. Best wishes to Mr. Stanbridge and his gang!

<?xml:namespace prefix="v" /><?xml:namespace prefix="o" /><![endif]--> Couldn't agree more with all of you.
I have yet to find a better handling, or more quiet, enjoyable flying aircraft built anywhere, that gets 35-40 mpg at 120 Knots... Stock, out of the box.
And it got better with age.
The new fast build takes the drudgery out of the Classic's endless glassing and with careful construction needs less filler.
The high top/wide body mod is much more comfortable but all that is a bit of a weight penalty the Classic did not have...
350 hours on the Rotax in my modified Classic and it still purrs.
Keep it simple and light with good access for maintenance, and it is a joy.
