It's been a while, but I remember sending my fuel caps back to zenith and they installed fwd facing vent tubes.
No charge.

[quote]John, I also have a difference in the drain rates for my CH-701fuel tanks. The last time I drained my tanks to change the sump drains, I noticed the difference equalized at about the halfway point. Additionally, I have drained one tank completely and verified that I still had normal flow from the drain on the gascolator being supplied solely by the other. This was done on the ground so effect in the air might be somewhat different. I have noticed my tank levels do equalize on longer flights though.
I don't want to say that your intended modifications are unnecessary but would suggest you might want to confirm there is a legitimate concern before adding complexity to your fuel system.

I did the same as Dan, what type of gas caps do you have? I changed to the caps with pitot tube on them and that has pretty much eliminated any imbalance. The valve is great to prevent cross feeding from one tank to another when you are parked on a slope.

After ~150 hours of flying I am changing my fuel system from the
factory plans. The problem\hassel of fuel sloshing and un-even feeding
in flight has been too much.

What I am proposing \ doing is to have to quick drains on "T" pipes
where the factory gascolator is. From there each line would move
forward into the cabin and have it's own fuel filter.

The fuel filters will then feed into a Left\Right\Both selector. From
the selector the fuel would go to a "real" gascolator and then finally
into the engine.

I simply installed valves on each fuel line as it enters the cabin above

my head. Since the right tank feeds first on my airplane, that is the
only valve I need to control during flight. Works great for me.
