That is what happens when you take a Cessna pilot and put him behind the controls of a responsive plane.  He LQQKs for rubber bands to put around the cuffs of his pants and SLOPPY control characteristics to go along with his own.   When was the last time you saw a Cessna pilot land on the mains and keep his nose gear up until stall?

I think this is the one and only AA-1 with a STOL mod (Robertson I think). This came out just before the AA-1A was introduced.  This plane was at the Fredericksburg convention.

Also, I should take offense to the Cessna Pilot comments.  I always try to land full stall on the mains in my C-182. Not an easy feat with no weight in the back and full flaps, but I can do it. Just is easier to do in my AA-1B, it has more nose up elevator authority at touchdown.
Both types have their challenges....

No big trick, since it is a published NACA airfoil that Bede used on several of his designs.
Now if you find the ordinates of the AA-1A through Tiger airfoil, THAT would be news!

Not sure but I think the ordinates given on page 22 may be for the AA1A thru Tiger. Take a looksee.
