I've been waiting two weeks for a response from Van's. Ken Scott acknowledged my request and said they would have to "research" it.
I've not seen this as an issue on other builder's sites. Any one else have this problem. I know it is minor, and I can fix it, but would rather have the parts supplied by Vans actually fit without significant modification.

Hey Kelly,

I don’t remember this particular problem, but it reminds me that it is a good idea to fit the baffles to the upper cowl first, THEN fit the oil cooler – I think this is more of an issue on the RV-8’s.

Later, – Lew

Thanks Lew. These pieces get trimmed off once they are assembled together.
The main problem as manufactured there is insufficient edge distance to drill for the rivets to hold it together.

Just to follow-up. Gus F. figured out from my pictures that my baffle kit
had a CB-705A rear baffle instead of the called for CB-1005A. The parts are
almost identical except for about 1/4" higher flange on the 1005A. Van's
sent me the correct part and now everything fits like it should.
