Here is hoping all the Lightning group that are along the east coast made it through the big storm OK. I just had about five days of rain and two days of high winds, but I can happily say that all is OK here in Williamsburg, VA. Well, at least no major problems, but a big tree limb did hit the roof and deck last night. No obvious damage that I can see - other than the fact that the noise scared the sh*t out of me when it hit last night. I'll get it cleaned up this afternoon when the rain quits. Chain saws are fun - well sometimes.

So if you were in Sandy's path, please let us know you are OK.
Ryan, I assume you are far enough east to be missing all the West Virginia Snow.

Also, with the holiday season coming up, I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas. As far as I know, the next major fly in that the Lightning guys will be attending is the annual Light Sport Aviation Expo in Sebring Florida. Up to now, I haven't been able to attend this event, but I definitely have it on my schedule for this January 16-20, 2013. So start now thinking about fun things to do in 2013 and plan on meeting in Sebring this January.
Blue Skies,
Buz

I plan to be in Sebring, probably alone.
On the Sandy.. hope everyone's ok.
Had my instrument rating checkride today in her wake, with 30+ knot winds and 21G29 on the ground. It was a major bouncy house but I'm glad to report I left it with as a ASEL IA.
Best of everything to everyone,

Max

Hi Max,
Congratulations on the new rating. I'm guessing you flew it in the Diamond, but with winds like that the Lightning would probably have been easier.
I look forward to seeing you at Sebring. Tell me again the expected "roll out" date for the "little one in the hangar". Is that closer to Sun N Fun time?
My best to you both - well soon to be a trio.
Blue Skies,
Buz

Thank you Mark an Buz!
The ETA is around New Year, which is why I think Olena's going to skip Sebring.
My Lightning was unfortunately a VCVFR-equipped airplane (very cool but VFR that is), getting a rating in her would have been tough.
However, I did have a landing in that airplane in winds like today - 80kts all the way to the ground and bleed the speed off there.
Anyways,
Best!

Buz,
Glad you are ok and weathered the storm ok. I also hope all the Lightning family are ok. I've got family in New Jersey and Mass. Still trying to get in touch with some of them. I know power outages are quite large and I'll hve to wait to hear from them as the power gets restored.

I've got the Sebring show on my calendar too. See you there.
Bear
