Well, I have applied flame to it and also tried sanding it to see if the
edges show. Both were negative, so I will continue sanding it and
filling where necessary. Thanks to all for your advice and suggestions.

Its just glass that wasn't peel plied. You would immediately see the fibers of the peel ply show up white after you hit it with some course 36 or 40 sand paper. Clean the area up to your satisfaction and move on.
