after a year of playing with the airflow into my engine compartment i am ready to paint my cowl. as i understand it you shoot the fiberglass with epoxy primer and after that sets you shoot it with another coat and while it is wet you shoot it with your poly tone color coat. all this is about painting a cloth covered airplane. i am wondering if any have painted glass and metal like this and especially wondering if anyone has used epoxy varnish instead of the wet epoxy primer coat?

Bob,
As I recall, the method you wrote is correct. I painted all my fiberglass parts that way in 2005 and have had no problem since. I wouldn't recommend any other way.

Bob-
I painted my fiberglass and my metal parts using the method you
describe, but NOT using the epoxy varnish.
The epoxy varnish is for the wooden parts.
I'd call Poly Fibre before straying from their directions, for such
an important operation as this.
