While I am sorting odd bits and bobs; since build I have had a slight coolant leak when the engine cools. I guess the water stops being pumped, the heads are hot and the pressure builds in the pipe from top bottle to port side of radiator and that joint weeps. Why doesnt it flow to the expansion bottle though? I have a silicon down pipe and good clamp but it still does it. Maybe I need a constant torque type clamp. Tempted to put the original black pipe back on.

I had the same problèm for years, and solved the pb with constant
torque type clamps

This is with precision same syndrom as I have in my OH-XRT. It has been totally dry and w/o leaks since 2007 until last winter after 5 years I changed all the rubber hoses and pipes and decided to install also those blue silicon hoses. During the last season I have seen after every flight a teaspoon or couple of coolant dropping out (port side). That makes me nervous. All the joints have been tightened several times.
Attached a picture which tells what is happening when the hose (blue silicon) is a bit too near a muffler /silencer. But that´s a different story.

I am also using the silicon hoses from Stefan Ingemarsson. Very good hoses I may add.
My start to drip at the radiator.
It looks like the inner diameter is a bit, not much, too big. I bought Teflon tape and put some layers (1-1,5 mm or so) on the both inlet and outlet of the radiator.
The inlet and outlet must be totally dry when applying the Teflon tape. At least for me this stopped the drip completely.
Another thing I have observed is that this type of silicon is vulnerable to heat, especially close to the exhaust system and should be isolated.

I agree with Yannick, I have used silicone hoses since day one with the spring
clamps and never had any kind of leak in five years,
Also all the hoses are fitted with a reflective
thermal sleeve, exspecially the hose from the pressure cap container to the Radiator
IMHO is a must!
