Gang:

I was just informed of an article in the NEWARK STAR LEDGER (NEWARK, NJ NEWSPAPER), Page 21.

Gas Stations being shut down because they are selling AVIATION GAS!!!

Too bad I did not know which station were selling it... I would have loaded up!  Especially at $3.60 a Gallon. <-- High Test.  Maybe it was in the REGULAR Pumps at $3.26 a Gallon???
But, the questions have to be asked:
1 - If there is so much control over AvGas <--- So they say as to keep prices high.  Where was the control on the delivery?
2 - Was AvGAs put into uncontrolled MoGas delivery vehicles?
3 - Was MoGas put into uncontrolled AvGas delivery vehicles?
4 - Have the Controlled Delivery Vehicles now been contaminated with MoGas?
5 - OMG ! ! ! ... What will our Ever Vigilant EPA do now that LEAD is being burned by surface vehicles? And...
6 - Who picks up the $TAB$ on the destroyed Catalytic Converters. <--- NJ in all their wisdom has done away with automobile inspection.  Except for EMISSIONS TESTING.  So, if your car fails and you don't even know you had a load of AvGas who pays for the repairs???  AND even if you do know... WHO PAYS!

No coffee as yet so these are the only questions I can come up with at this time.
Maybe you have a few to ask?

I doubt it. That would be pretty impossible to screw up.

It happened. But it was Jet-A they were mis-dispensing, not gasoline. Cars were stalled a few blocks way from the station. Jet-A is kerosene, and it would do a lot worse than just foul the catcon. I suspect the engines were damaged as well. A half-dozen stations and 80,000 gallons.

"IMPOSSIBLE"  Maybe but highly probable.
There was also an article of a Jet Fuel supply being miss-delivered to MoGas stations.  That article I cannot find right now.

But, you are correct Gary - ALWAYS QUESTION.  Never follow blindly.

Good thing NJ has a law that requires that a professional licensed attendant has to fill your car with fuel. God know the general public would put the wrong fuel in their cars and ruin them. Those licensed professionals would never let this happen....

Yes Kevin, you are 100% correct.
Too bad these "professionals" can read, write or speak English.  I wonder how they took their test for their "License"?
I remember that law - A friend owned a SONOCO Gas station back then and I worked their once in a while ... Pumping Gas and rebuilding Starter Motors!

NJ passed that law way back in the 1960's.  It kept NJ from becoming a SELF SERVICE state.  It was to keep people from becoming UNEMPLOYED and collecting Unemployment and Welfare.  Going Self Service would have dumped thousand of people on the "System".  Since Linden, NJ is the home of ESSO... EXXON-MOBILE today and where the cracking plant is located.  This kept the cost of gas low so even with the little extra that had to be paid for a Gas Attendant, the gas was still less than the rest of the nation.  THEN some wise ass politician said NJ should have gas prices more inline with the rest of the nation.  So UP our ASS... Whoops, UP our PRICES it went.  It did not matter that the argument of: WHY does NJ have the HIGHEST insurance rates in the Nation was placed up against the raising of Gas Costs...  Shouldn't insurance costs be lowered for the SAME reason?

NOW!  Here is an idea for the industry:  Since pilots are tested on the knowledge of Fuel Color Vs Type of Fuel Vs Octane... Shouldn't Drivers and Gas Station Attendants also be tested on this knowledge?  AND shouldn't cars be equipped with a Tank Drain so drivers can get on their knees and SUMP their gas tank?

HELL!  I'm going to put a BILL through State Congress that every law they pass comes equipped with KY Jelly so it can be handled easier.  I'm sure the queers... Whoops, got to be PC... Gays, will appreciate that!
