Ok, I know a couple of you have the remote compass on your Dynon – can you tell me WHERE exactly it is mounted and how you/they did it?

AutoPilot – about to install a Trio autopilot in my TW, before we re-invent the wheel , anyone out there already installed one, and have pictures or suggestions of where and how to mount the servo

Thanks!
David

Talon,
I have not put my remote magnetometer in yet but am about to do so (in the 50). Traditionally in the 52, it is mounted in the farthermost aft bulkhead section in the tail. That gets it well away from anything that can cause a magnetic disturbance. I am fixing to mount mine in front of the bulkhead forward of my tail wheel strut. The hard part is going to be running the wiring from about 2 feet aft of the battery bay door all the way back the tail wheel. Know any 2 ft Trolls with 8 inch fingers or a well trained monkey that works cheap? Maybe for bananas?
Can't help you on the auto pilot. Talk to Ray Reeves, he installed one in his 52. As I remember he had a few teething issues at first.

The servo mount for the autopilot is just below the front seat mounted on the bulkhead where the floor board meets the bulkhead just after of where you rest your left foot.  The servo arm attaches to a strong clamp affixed to the aileron torque tube.
