My measurements are 70.25" for the mains and 15.25" for the nose gear.

He isn't so young any more and shouldn't be asked to endure the cold any longer than really necessary.

Thanks for such a quick response, Bob (sorry I got your name wrong; it was late when I replied). I look forward to receiving that data from you.



If anyone else can supply with their figures by Monday evening UK time, that would also be really helpful to get an idea of the average distances.



It's interesting that my nose wheel and main wheel figures differ from yours Rick by about half and inch i.e. the approximate width of the joggle.



I'm going to check again tomorrow anyway, because today I did a somewhat "rough and ready" trial. I dangled my plumb bob from the rear corner of the joggle where the lower cowling rear edge ends.



I wonder whether anyone, like Europa in Yorkshire, has ever collated these measurements for general reference.

My measurements are from the aft edge of the joggle.  I can see where there could be 1/2" or more difference between tri-gear installations.  Very small differences in gear angles can easily produce that at the axle.  The important thing is that both main gear should have the same distance measurement.

Many thanks for your replies, including those by email. I got four, one each from Bob, Svein, David and "Air Eupora". For general interest the average distances including my own were Nosewheel 14.7" and Mains 69.9". So my figures of 14.75" and 69.75" should be good enough for my inspector tomorrow, I hope.
