Is it necessary to add a vent tube to the gas cap on the 701, or is the vented caps enough? I have shut off valves for both tanks.

It depends who you talk to. Personally, I am perfectly satisfied with the factory caps with no modification. I am, however, running 3/8 hard piped fuel line with AN fittings as opposed to the rubber hose that comes with the kits.

Good to see you only here Sam. I'm still plugging away on my 701. Are you about ready to fly yours yet?

These caps vary.

You need to check that you have sufficient fuel flow without extra venting.

Drilling out the 4 vent channels on the rim may help. Beware - the cap is quite thin.

One more thing about the caps from the factory:

Throw out that horrible paper gasket and replace it with a rubber gasket. The paper showed signs of deteriation after only a few months of flying.
