OK, so now I fancy a day in Paris flying via Cap Griz Nez
So good having that extra 25-30knts over my old jalopy.
Any recommendations for a customs airfield with easy access to the center that wont cost arms and legs?
Saint-Cyr l'ecole, Chele-le pin, lognes?
thanks for response to previous post.

A brief squint at the French AIP [ http://www.sia.aviation-civile.gouv.fr/html/frameset_aip_fr.htm ] reveals that those 3 are all, sadly:
"9 - Douanes, Police / Customs, Police : NIL."
Maybe Pontoise, LFPT? Then a 50 min train ride to Gare du Nord [ http://www.transilien.com/fichehoraire/fichehoraire/init ]

I guess it might give more options to drop in at le Toquet to clear customs first then.
Might just be able to nod at customs on the way back. I seem to recall you can just overfly if the customs desk is empty going back.

Hi Graeme,
My first choice would be Saint-Cyr. I don't have the tax level for any but
this could be affordable for the three of them.
Saint-Cyr is located 25 km from Tour Eiffel by car (and less than 10 of
Chateau de Versailles) and there is a train station (RER = Regional Express)
at ~3 km from the airfield.
Chelles is located ~35 km from Tour Eiffel by car and there is a train
station (RER = Regional Express) at ~6 km from the airfield.
Lognes is located ~35 km from Tour Eiffel by car and there is a train
station (RER = Regional Express) at ~9 km from the airfield.

Graeme,
Unfortunately many french airports do not have customs anymore. Pontoise seems to be the only one left in the Paris area. From there you will have to take a taxi to the train station. If you clear customs at le Touquet, then I believe Lognes is a good choice: there is a train (RER) station at walking distance (about 2 km) north of the airfield. Shuttle to Paris about every half hour.
