Does anyone have experience with the Sensenich ground adjustable carbon prop on the 3300A engine? It looks like a beauty and I need to dial up the rpm's a bit to get within the Jab specs. I posted a while ago about static rpm's being 2500 at most. I have to push it to see 3000 in flight. I've been cruising the neighborhood at 4gpm at 2400 rpm. This is with the sensenich 64X47.

I have the Sensenich white ground adj prop on my Rans S-7S with a 3300 Jab. Cruises at 105 MPH and climbs at 1000 feet per minute. Works great!!

Chuck
I have one on my Lightning SN 133 It works well. I have mine set to 2650 RPM on takeoff and that gives me more than adequate power. Full throttle it turns 3150. If you look at the Jab 3300 power curves you do not get a great deal of power increase after about 3100 RPM. The only quirk in its operation is at low idle RPM where, due to its low rotational mass you can feel the individual power pulses as slightly rough running. At cruise RPM it is as smooth as a turbine. Gary Barnett

Chuck,I also have a Senenich ground adjustable on a Lightning (Kit 127) with Jabiru 3300 and have made several adjustments over the last few weeks.
Best compromise I could get was 2700 on take off, 2850 on climb at 85 Knts, 3150 WOT. This gave 110 Knt (IAS) cruise at 2850.
Each adjustment mark is 4 degrees (or 12 inches geometric pitch). Adjustments of 1/2 degree were probably too much, needed to use 1/4 degree to tweak it just right. A digit protractor helps!!
Sounds like you need to fine it up a fraction

Chuck,
Have you seen the caution in both the 2200 and 3300 manuals: "Do not cruise or climb in the range 2100rpm – 2400rpm?" I believe Pete at Jabiru USA said it has to do with cylinder glazing.

The caution about that range has to do with the Old carb needle. If you have an engine say newer than 2004 or so you probably have the jabiru needle not the one from Bing.
The bing needle has a straight taper and casue the engine to have an extreme lean peak in that RPM range.
Of course say operating for long hours in those ranges before the engine is broke in could cause the same problem, but this is due to the rings not seating.
