Well, I experienced the nose wheel shimmy problem for the second time on my last pulsar flight. My neighbor was watching and noted that it was very fast and the wheel departed quickly. I was lucky in that the engine mount held. The strut did bend back but kept the prop above the runway. I now need a new front strut and fork. The fork broke where the wheel pant screws were. Wheel pant is damaged to, but probably can be salvaged with significant glass repair.

Any one out there with a spare strut, fork, or wheel pant? I think the fork will be the biggest problem as it is for the smaller 582 wheel. I believe that I can make a new strut locally from the drawing that Greg supplied, but the fork will be a problem. I may be able to have one machined out of a 7075 T6 billet.

I had a wheel fork problem, as well. I had a guy in Utah fabricate one for me that is frankly overbuilt. He makes, among other things, barrels for US Army sniper guns. I was going to put it on, when it became clear that the larger wheel was a bit too large for the inside fork dimensions. Perhaps, it would work for your application, though. It weights about 5-6 lbs, though. So, leave a gallon of gas at home! Reply if you want me to send you a photo of it. I fund a spare that some had in their hanger. Also, there was a full front gear for sale from on this sight from a guy that went taildragger and had a KitFox unit. He was in TX and pretty expensive as it was never used.
