You can place a piece of duck tape on the oil cooler grill about 2 inches wide by 4 inches long. Don't go flying until you have run it up.

Hummm.....lets see.....maybe move to a warmer climate? Only teasing of
course.

Where is the oil temperature probe located? Output from the engine?
Output from the oil tank? On the return line after the oil passes
through the oil cooler? You could also have oil temperature probes on
both the outlet and inlet, like the CJ does. This shows how much actual
cooling occurs after the oil passes through the oil cooler.

Does your installation have an oil filter? If yes, is the temperature
probe located in the oil filter housing? Is the oil filter fitted to
the output side of the engine driven oil pump (scavenge side of the oil
pump) or after the oil cooler and before the oil goes back into the oil
tank?

As Doc says, close off or tape off a section of the oil cooler.

Verify the oil temperature probe and oil temperature instrument are
providing accurate information.
