HI, sorry to bother everyone again and thanks to those guys I have managed to E mail directly and have given my their current hours flown and Gross Weight numbers for their aircraft.
Sorry to bother Lightning owners.

I am now, I hope, on the last stretch of efforts to get my UK permit. Once again I need to collate the hours flown by Esqual aircraft around the world to prove the aircraft is flying safely with no structural failures. At the moment I am to be limited to 450kg Gross weight (955 lbs) which makes it a solo aircraft though I don’t yet have that and a currently grounded after completing an extensive flight testing program. The data I’m collecting will be used to support a justification to increase the Gross weight to 540 kgs (1150lbs)
If you could e mail back with your aircraft tail number confirmation, hours, Gross weight/MAUW. It would very much appreciated.

Also if you know of the contact details of anyone with an Esqual outside the US, UK, Sweden or Belgium I would appreciate them.

Especially keen to get in contact with the current owners of the tail numbers in the US:
N46LM
N117DA
N312L
N622EA
N925S
N937HP
I am making efforts to contact them directly.

If you’d rather not send information to the list pick my E mail out the address of this posting. Or use clive.james(at)uk.bp.com (clive.james(at)uk.bp.com)
As an indication as to the amount of hours I have collected to date:
3382 hrs (at)540kgs or above
3766 hrs (at)450kgs registered
7148 hrs total flown by Esqual aircraft around the world, this is from slightly less than half the aircraft that were built.

Clive,
You probably have my numbers, but currently N31BZ has a total of just over 815 hours. I have it at listed at 1320 pounds max gross weight, but have occasionally flown it over that. When building N31BZ, I modified quite a bit to insure it would be able to operate at 1320.

On April, 30 2013 my Esqual I- 9854 registered as Advanced has 178 hours.
Luigi

Advanced means my plane is registered as Ultralight accordingly with Italian regulation.
It is allowed to land in the airport exactly as the General aviation, to have all the service like the other planes , to fly VFR only and with a take-off weight of 450 Kg (475 with ballistic parachute).
It requires a special check by engineer, to have radio, transponder and elt.
The Ultralight basic in Italy, may fly not higher than 500 feet (1000 on Holydays) and outside controlled airspace, and cannot land on the airport.
Ciao
Luigi

Hi Jim, thanks no, it's a good question I should have explained that is where I got my list of Tail Numbers from.
So far I have been kindly updated by for 11 of the 18 Esqual owners in the US, by 1 in Belgium, 2 in Australia, 1 in Italy and 1 in Portugal
I have recently been kindly contacted by the owners of N312L and N46LM and now have a record of their hours and status.

I heard from Antonio in Portugal who has updated me about the planes there. Sadly one aircraft and the 2 POB were lost in bad weather in some hilly countryside so it is not all good news of pilot's enjoying their Esqual's.
One of the aircraft in Australia was previously unknown to me, # 54 which has done 135hrs with a 912 at 544 kgs.

Buzz put me onto the FAA database in 2011 so the info below is in the public domain. Maybe readers of the list know of them?

The remaining numbers are below, if I have no success on-line, I will be writing to snail mail:
N117DA, registered to LSA Wings, TIJERAS, BERNALILLO, NM
N925S, registered to a Richard Stiles, Panama City, Floriday Bay
N937HP, for this aircraft the address is an Aircraft holding Trust in Onalaska Texas and I have today sent them an E mail to pass on to the owner/operator.
N432ES, is registered to the High Point Group, BONSALL SAN DIEGO, CA
Also others where I have some information:
N622EA is known to someone on the list and he is trying to find out the status.
For N539DB I have an E mail address for the owner, Dave Resen who I heard from in 2007, I'm hoping to get a reply from Dave, mind you it's an old E mail (2007) so I may have to write.
N329SB which was built by, and still belongs to, John Jenkins, again I have E mailed John at the address from 2011.
These 2 aircraft are still registered to these guys.

The most important aircraft for my permit case are the ones at the higher gross weight, 540 or greater, though the more hours I have a record of the marque will help I'm sure.

Total hours I currently have listed are 7357, of which 3481 are at 540kgs or greater.
Thanks to all for the help and interest, I will start contacting the few French and Spanish addresses I have. There must be a way to track the aircraft in Spain and France though the agencies but I don't know how. There are some more in Australia that are not on their database, they have two systems over there. There is also the Esqual company in Sweden who I must phone as they had some contact details of Esqual owners in 2011 I am just remembering….
Regards, Clive James
G-PHCJ, Esqual in UK, #39, formerly PH-GCJ when it was registered as a Dutch experimental. 75 hours but currently grounded awaiting an interim solo permit to fly.

Clive,
I'm pretty sure John Jenkins passed away during the past year. I think it was pretty sudden - maybe cancer. Nick will remember for sure.

That is correct, John passed away from a very aggressive form of cancer.

Hi Clive,

there is another French registered Esqual that is flown by a Belgian guy in the North of France and it’s a tail dragger!!!
I’ve asked him to forward hours and MTOW.
I’ve also attached a picture.

Kind regards

DDW

Total hours I currently have listed are 7357, of which 3481 are at 540kgs or greater.

Thanks to all for the help and interest, I will start contacting the few French and Spanish addresses I have. There must be a way to track the aircraft in Spain and France though the agencies but I don't know how. There are some more in Australia that are not on their database, they have two systems over there. There is also the Esqual company in Sweden who I must phone as they had some contact details of Esqual owners in 2011 I am just remembering….

This probably a stupid question, but have you checked www.faa.gov for theN-numbers you have listed? Should be able to find all of their addresses

Clive,
You probably have my numbers, but currently N31BZ has a total of just over 815 hours. I have it at listed at 1320 pounds max gross weight, but have occasionally flown it over that. When building N31BZ, I modified quite a bit to insure it would be able to operate at 1320.

Hi Clive,

there is another French registered Esqual that is flown by a Belgian guy in the North of France and it’s a tail dragger!!!
I’ve asked him to forward hours and MTOW.
I’ve also attached a picture.

Kind regards
