What kind of safety wire should I be using? I went to purchase some and found these 4 options:
<![if !supportLists]>1) <![endif]>Stainless Steel
<![if !supportLists]>2) <![endif]>Oxidized Inconel
<![if !supportLists]>3) <![endif]>Monel
<![if !supportLists]>4) <![endif]>Iconel

As most folks know, I am an Avionics person. However, I have friends
who are experts in the field of Airframes and Powerplants. The answer
below is from our Senior Airframes Field Engineer.

"Inconel / monel are exotic metals typically used in high temp
applications. We use MS20995Cxx (stainless) on non-engine parts and
MS9226xx (oxidized inconel) for engine installation. xx = wire
diameter, typically .020 avionics and .032 and up for aircraft systems."

Should not call it safety wire. Nothing safe about the stuff.
