I'm building a SS7 and was wondering if others had to trim the firewall width? Mine seems about 3/8" too wide on both sides as compared to the sides of the tube fuselage and in compared to the stainless steel lower firewall piece (the part that goes along the lower edge and below the fuse).....

Mike,
My experience is with model IVs. With the IV the firewall is custom fit to
the cowling so it is sent by the factory oversized. It is essentially cut
to fit the cowl. I found that one of the more challenging parts of the
whole construction process. Not being that familiar with the 7, the above
might not hold, but I would suggest not cutting until you are sure how it
will eventually fit the cowl.
