What size fuse can be used to power the 912UL engine regulator B+ terminal. The Skystar schematic that I have shows a 35 amp fuse, but I haven't been able to find a fuse that size.

Any suggestions? Would a 30 amp be enough?

The fuse is a protective device for your plane. I don't know how much electrical demand that you have for your plane. It would be better to have the 30 amp fuse vs over sizing the protective device witha 40 amp. You could put a amp meter in series with the fuse temporarly and turn everything on. It will give you a insight as to what kind of electrical load you have. The biggest consumere of power on your plane would be landing lights (just a guess) .

My best guess (without seeing all the loads) is it will work .

The generator built into the 912 is only rated 18 amps. 30 amps is plenty of cushion. It is oversized to allow transient loads that would cause nuisance tripping.

The fuse is to protect the wire, not the generator.

Good point Clint. That is exactly right, the fuse is to prevent the wire from overheating from the fuse to the load. The Regulator and alternator are also in the loop and the fuse protects them indirectly. The if the fuse is sized too small then generating capacity is also limited.  So I'm just pointing out the fuse is plenty large to get all the capacity out of the power source.
