We're finally installing our GSC 68-inch wooden 3-bladed prop on a KF -IV-912. The instructions from GSC said the prop blades are balanced at the factory and are a matched and numbered set and the CG of the blades match. They say not to alter the blades in any way.
However when we put the blades on the static prop balancer (the wire stand one from Skystar), one blade is heavy. Weighing the blades reveals that one is indeed about 1 ounce heavier than the others. Since they are a numbered matched set, I question what to do next.
Do we try to add weight to the other two blades (varnish or something) to get them to static balance. But that would change the CG of the blades and "alter" them. What should we do?

Does it say they are dynamically balances?
one ounce is a lot of weight.
I suggest you Call GSC
"Varnish" is good for fine balance.

Call Rick at GSC
The actual weights of each blade might not mean there is a issue.
static - should be close if you got an accurate static balancer.

I've gotten my GSC prop balance to within the weight of a half-inch of masking tape applied at the tip using a prop balancer. The way I did this is that I bolted the prop hub between two plates, embedded bearings in the plates, and ran a shaft through the bearings. I'd also degreased the bearings to reduce friction so it would turn perfectly freely. Since I'd painted the back side of my prop flat black to prevent pilot-blinding when the sun is behind the aircraft, I was able to invisibly apply additional layers to the light blades.
