I had an over temp on my 3rd gen iPad a while back so I thought I would figure a way to cool it down. I noticed the hole that is already cut in the RAM iPad mount in the shape of an Apple. I found a 12volt 40mm CPU fan that snaps right into that hole. I then cut 2 more holes (37mm) with a hole cutter and installed two more fans. The 3 fans move a lot of air over the back of the iPad. I made a harness using an old cigar power adaptor. Works pretty good. No over temp warnings yet using these fans.

That's a very creative solution. Good job, and thanks for sharing.

I had that happen to my iPad. But I left mine sitting in the sun. I take it with me now.
Send a pic of your invention.
