Sacha,
You may have misinterpreted my design. My fittings are on the
vertical inboard surface of the tank, inside the inner-most wing rib.
(There's a gap of about 1 1/2".) They're definitely out of the airflow
and, but for the root rib plate, would be visible just above the gas
"gauges", (the site tubes,) from the pilot's seat.

Thank you for correcting my understanding. It sounds exactly like what I want. Do you happen to have pictures or could you take some easily?
