Hi all,

After installing my Ram heads and dual dizzy's, I am only getting 3600 RPM (at) full throttle. The engine is running smooth with no hiccups, just only getting 3600 RPM. The Bing carbs are the original setup with the old heads and Subaru ignition. Any suggestions?

Hi John,
I’d look at the butterfly travel and linkage at the carbs.  If you’re running distributors, I’d look at fly-weights in the distributor.  Check your carbs and jets for corruption from the tank. I was surprised to have lots of aluminum swarf and grit from construction of my tanks with same result.  Smooth could be with misadjusted valve gap and or timing.  Get a good filter on your fuel line ahead of the carbs. I used a see thru type, no problems.
