While building my slow build RV-10 I've also been working on my IFR
ticket.
Well it came together today. ASEL-IR test passed!, now back to
driving rivets...

A huge congrats to you. Now that you're done, I'm sure you've
gathered a huge appreciation for that type of flying and
navigation. It amazes me how well designed every piece of the
system is, down to the flow and layout of chart info (esp. Jepp).
Everything has it's place, and when you put it all together
correctly, it almost seems like a flawless thing...until
you throw in real weather issues and ice.
Glad you took the time to do it!

It is amazing how the whole system works. Plus I had the pleasure of
learning from the beginning with a GNS 530, which is a huge advantage
in knowing were you are and what's next. Also, Since our panel's
main PFD is a Dynon D-100 I had the pleasure of Turning it OFF for the
partial panel approach portion of my ride. All good stuff,+ I'm glad
to have that experience before laying out my panel in the -10.

Congratulation! And please do share with the group your panel plans as you firm them up.
