I'm the third owner of a Kitfox 7, so only god knows where they been. Is this film clear or colored?? Mine appear to be clear plain aluminum but rubbing my hand across the finish does not feel right. I have intensely gone over the flaperons and can't find anything film to lift off.

I stored my flaperons by hanging them on a wall in my shop for about 7-8
years. The side against the wall came off easily. The side exposed to the
room and natural light and artificial light (florescent) was very
difficult to remove. So UV plays a role.

All the plastic I have ever seen on flaperons was white. the aluminum is bright as a mirror right after the plastic is peeled off. If there was some clear stuff on them I am sure you would see it easily. Especially on the ends where it would be peeled up a little. Consider yourself lucky.

The film on my flaperons is clear and very hard to see, but it is there. When you peel it off, it actually has a slight blue tint to it. You can get a hold of it by making a small cut across a corner with a razor blade and then peeling from the cut.
