hi fellow kolb flyers..i took a video of the chgo. lakefront the other day from my  firestar II - 503 and thought

Thanks for all the info, Neal.  I'm guessing you are a Chicago native.



I had very little idea of what I was looking at on my recent flight in 

that area, other than that was Chicago.

john..i wasn't so sure either at times (mapquest helps) and yes i'm a native chicagoan and part of the FVFC (Fox Valley Flying Club.com) with 4 kolbs in the group & bout 70 members... we make the OSH trip every year as a group event (30 members this year)and one of our builders walked away with the reserved grand champion award last week with his new Rans that was parked on the south forty next to the ultralight strip.

You should submit this to TNK as a promo. video  ..



And ... you are not a nervous guy to fly around  this city with a 503 ...

No a critic, as i would be too scared to do this in Montreal

had a life jacket on, said my prayers and always kept an eye out for the unexpected as i'm sure most of us do (although i cheated at times when i noticed the shore drift further away) . i made that trip and landed at meigs field with a bunch of guys from our club back in 2000.  they had an open house and we got a faa waiver for the flight of trikes, ultralights & experimentals..what a ball!
