I am Bill Sullivan, and my wife is Norma, called Tiny. Newcomers to the list, both reading and contributing. Enjoy it very much. We are in our late 50's, and just decided to buy a used Kolb Firefly. Question: Is there anyone in our area who can give a couple of lessons in a dual control Kolb? We live in Windsor Locks, Ct., right near Bradley Airport. East Windsor, Simsbury, and Ellington airports are nearby, as well as Robert's field, which is turf, and privately owned. We would also like to know if there are any local clubs, or Kolb owners near. Thank You
Bill

Hi Bill, there are three Kolbs at Goodspeed (42B); two MKIII's and my
Ultrastar (though I'm keeping mine at home in the trailer during the
winter). There's also at least one Kolb at Richmond in RI. I don't think
any of them are instructors, though you might be able to get a ride in one
(more likely in the Spring when it's warmer, I'd imagine). We often get
together at Goodspeed on Saturday mornings even when it's too cold to fly.

Did you buy your Firefly locally? Just curious because there was a nice
one at Griswold (N04) before it closed (as well as a Firestar, my
Ultrastar, and one of the MKIII's now at Goodspeed); I was interested but
the owner supposedly wasn't interested in selling, so I bought the
Ultrastar instead. We're still hoping a miracle happens and Griswold
reopens, but we're not holding our breaths.

Boy, Roberts sure is close to Bradley! Are visitors welcome? Do you know
if they have a letter of agreement or do you have to contact Bradley
approach? I see there's also Bancroft just south of Roberts.

Hi Bill,

I am located in Miami, which is a very long way from you, but the weather is warm and if you find yourself down here on vacation, and would like to get some dual in a MK III, I would be happy to take you up. This offer is open to anyone that needs to fly a 2 place Kolb before attempting to solo their own Kolb.

Mike
