I bought one also and I may be wrong but I don't remember them being
advertised as light weight. Lighter which by your statement is true,but
there is more to it than just weight, if you look at it closely it is new in
design over the oem with better internal coolling smaller frame and better
mounting design and above all the folks that sell them are truly there to
help you and will. I have delt with Kelley Areospace alternators (3 years 3
alternators)and feel this is a better mouse trap, maybe not perfect but
better IMO.
