Thanks Alan - my plead has just left my computer.
I do not know whether you saw my earlier e-mail when I commented that my son already has his new licence a week or so ago but he has a JAR licence so perhaps that makes the difference.

Alan

I don't think the lady you spoke to at the CAA knew what she was talking about.

I have just been sent a new version of my UK PPL which confrims in section XIII that I am proficient in the English language. How they know I have no idea. I was born in Holland, and am still a Dutch national, but the CAA are perhaps assuming that after living in the UK for nearly 50 years I must have picked up a working knowledge of the local language!

Hi Everyone...........

Have just spoken to a nice lady at the UK CAA about the issue of Language Proficiency Endorsements

She says that the CAA has not yet started issuing these for non-commercial licence holders and that in any case they have a period of three years in which to complete the task !

<<...transition from the CAA's old DOS based computer to the Windows based
system had not been successful in all cases...>>

Which might be a euphemism for ".....the CD was lost in the post"!
