has anyone had good results with the 701 buble door suction cups holding the doors up?
anyone come up with a better idea?
i beleive gas stuts will just crack the plexi
just havent wanted to put the suction cups in and want somthing better.

I have suction cups on my bubble doors.
only need approx 1" cup. welded a piece of hollow tube approx 4" to bracket
and pop rivet to underside of wing.
hole drilled through tube and fit a split pin through hole and end of
suction cup for ease of replacement
been on for over a year just holds enough so you can pull down from inside
cockpit. very light.

After two years, the old suction cups kept dropping the door, so I replaced them, and very soon it started dropping again - one time cracking the plexi when it slammed on the handle.
Installed 40 pound - 8.15 inch gas struts, and they are wonderful.
