Have louvers on sides and oil temps in hot summer are great--even in climbs. However, in cold weather sometimes hard to get above 150 when it's really cold outside. Any good suggestions for partially blocking--tape?? what will withstand engine heat and not melt?? Also have larger oil cooler. thanks. larry & gayle

You can do the shutter Van's sells or the butterfly valve that someone else does (sorry, can't remember who offhand). Both of those give you in flight adjustability rather than a static setting that tape gives you. Of course that works too.

Installed the oil scat tube air controller by www.nonstopaviation.com. Very nicely made product at a very reasonable price. Cruising around at 55% power even with only moderate temps--50'sF--with the larger oil cooler and louvers, only could get 152 oil temp. closed the air controller, and very quickly got 40+ degree jump. With the larger oil cooler and louvers the summer issue is fixed, and this controller seems to have fixed the winter issue. easier to do while building, but not hard as after market product. good product support also. lbb
