Subject: Shipping of WeldOn #10 by air: request for help

Dear List,

I am building an RV10 in Australia.

The bonding of the windows calls for the use of Weld-On#10 which is a
structural glue.

Vans does not ship this internationally because it is a hazardous good
(flammable) and requires a special license. I am having trouble sourcing
this product in Australia.

I wondered if anyone knew of a third party US company that would undertake
the shipping of hazardous goods.

For anyone who has technical know how the designation (for amounts less than
1 quart) is ORM-D

Thank you for your help.

Search the archives for Sika flex and use it instead. I have used both on 2 different RV-10's and will never use the weldon 10 again. Won't go into details now, but due to the weldon 10 I had to replace the windshield and a side window, and it was not user error. I even spoke with the windshield manufacturer on Ohio and he said NOT to use the weldon 10 and wished Van's would not recommend it... I can provide more details offline if necessary.

I’ll second the Sikaflex recommendation, used it to bond my ‘-7A slider windshield and canopy, very happy with the result
