Kevin,
My cork strips came with a peel-off strip and adhesive on one side. If yours are not like that, you could use an automotive weatherstrip adhesive. It will act like a contact adhesive, so should be relatively easy to use (but messy).

Hi Kev,
3M Formula 77 adhesive is a good one. Spray both parts and let tack for
a couple of minutes and then apply cork to tank.
Pretty good stuff.
