Well, RV buds, I don't know if I want to study the Croat language, but I do like the pistols they make - bought one yesterday!  Springfield Armory has the XD line of semiautomatics made there.  Fit and finish look good to me Smile  I will probably go back for a second helping, in, say, 9mm.  Guns & ammo -  the one section of the economy Teleprompter Man has successfully stimulated since the election.

Gee, Stormy,

That  description makes my old 38 S&W Combat Special seem a bit antiquated – but, then it fits with the rest of the decor {:>)

Stormy I bought the same one last summer. I have put 1000 rounds through it. The springs finally loosened up. It has worked flawlessly.

I considered the glock. I purchased the Springfield XD for several reasons, One, two safety features. The double triger and the grip has a safety as well. Second the slide has a feature that lets you know a round is in the chamber and lastely a pin protrudes to let you know it is cocked. I also own a S&W .38 revolver to the safety issues a glock offers is a non event. Oh the Springfield is 1/3 less cost.

I knew when I commented on Croatian handguns, the Austrians would be along shortly...  Glock - sheesh!

Springfield added the grip safety to eliminate the risk of "Glock leg" when re-holstering.  And I've heard the difference between a Glock and a grenade is, you pretty much know exactly when a grenade is going to explode.

That should get Bill riled up Wink
Maybe if I can get the range ready by June, we can add plinking to the list of activities for the Fly-In.  Is there interest?

Well, RV buds, I don't know if I want to study the Croat language, but I do like the pistols they make - bought one yesterday!  Springfield Armory has the XD line of semiautomatics made there.  Fit and finish look good to me Smile  I will probably go back for a second helping, in, say, 9mm.  Guns & ammo -  the one section of the economy Teleprompter Man has successfully stimulated since the election.

Austrian Tupperware…you got to love it

I’ll just keep dragging my S&W Mdl 59 around, but then a nice KelTec or Ruger 380 is on my have to get list.  We have pretty good carry laws here in Georgia and don’t want to miss out on the opportunity.  Just looked at the XD, nice looking pistol, maybe another got to have before they are banned.

Radomir,

Isn’t your wife Croatian? Just let me know when I can try her out.

Bill & Tad,

I really like my 9mm Tupperware! (And the other toys in my safe.)

As for the Glock and the safeties, the thing has three safeties built into it and they work real easy. Keep your finger off the trigger and it won’t discharge. Put your finger on the trigger and it will fire every time. Regarding not being able to tell if there is a round chambered and it is cocked, well, if there is a round in it, it is cocked. Besides, I always treat any firearm as if it is loaded, so I don’t see that as a real issue.

How was that Bill, did I get riled up enough for you? Set up the range and I’ll bring the Sub2000 up when we come.

Bill

I knew when I commented on Croatian handguns, the Austrians would be along shortly... Glock - sheesh!

Springfield added the grip safety to eliminate the risk of "Glock leg" when re-holstering. And I've heard the difference between a Glock and a grenade is, you pretty much know exactly when a grenade is going to explode.

That should get Bill riled up Wink

Maybe if I can get the range ready by June, we can add plinking to the list of activities for the Fly-In. Is there interest?

I'd have to agree, Rad.  Got an extra one around?  How about a Croatian woman who's a sharpshooter, too?
