Good news! My inspection went quickly and smoothly today. The inspector was thorough but completely reasonable. The Goose is loose! Flight testing will begin as soon as Wx and circumstances permit.

That's one beautiful airplane you got there. Try not to scratch in during Phase 1, OK?

That's the kind of feedback I needed to hear. Pretty nice the way that works out, huh? Thanks Ron and thanks to all who responded with encouragement and support for me and my dad. I'm not the guy who will tell you that building was more fun that finishing the airplane. Building was an adventure and an educational process, but like all of my education, it has been a means to an end rather than a goal in itself. That is not meant to disparage the building experience... it is simply meant as an insight to my motivation. The plane was always envisioned as a vehicle and like my car or truck I have more than a little bit of silly emotion invested in it. But at the bottom line it is still a vehicle... a complex machine, a tool meant for a purpose. That purpose is to get me and my dad some enjoyable mobility and time in the air together. That doesn't exclude my wife or the rest of my family, but realistically it means a whole lot more to me and to Papa than to anyone else. They just tolerate us because they love us (God help them). We look forward to the flying part of this adventure fully aware of the resposibility to maitain the machine and use it responsibly. We will try not to let you all down.
On the subject of responsibility, I will now also attempt to be more responsive to the questions of other builders now that I can move my drawings back here to the house where I can reference them more easily. By doing that I can hopefully pay back some of the help I have been given along the way.
Thanks again,
Ed
