K-1 Kerosene is the closest to the GOST specifications required for
the L-29. In actuality, if you burn Jet-A exclusively you will have
fuel control problems down the road due to Jet-A's lower lubricicity.
The advent of the new low sulphur diesel fuel may also become a viable
fuel, with the main properties of concern to us being Flash Point,
Lubricicity, corrosive properties, and water volume. Jet Fuels have to
meet additional standards for flow rates at extreme temperatures, and
freezing temps, which dont really apply to us since we dont fly at the
flight levels.
I havent been able to find the actual specs for the new diesel but I will look.
In the meantime here is more info than you'll ever want to know regarding Fuels.

Dear fellow L-29 owners,
With the rising cost of fuel I am looking into alternatives so I can fly
my airplane more.
Has anyone out there researched what the 29 can burn?
Is anyone burning something else besides Jet-a?

Here is a good comparison of Jet fuels and Diesel fuels. Note Diesel
#2 has more lubricity and energy content than Jet-A and JP-8, where
Diesel #1 is closer to Jet-A's specs. Again these specs do not take
into consideration the specific requirements for aviation fuels, which
dont really apply to us.

Bottom line is K-1 Kerosene is just as fine as is Diesel #1.
And some more comparisons.

This article relates to using Jet-A instead of Diesel, while Jet-A may
not be the best for Trucks, it is good for Jet engines, especially the
crude ones that we run.
