My wheel bearings are starting to weep grease/oil. Also, the nose wheel "pops" and squeeks when I side-load it by pulling on the prop hub.

Anybody replaced these bearings? Where can I get them?

Are these the Matco two-piece wheels?
I talked to them about two years ago. With mine the bearings are internal to the wheel and not servicable, you simply have to replace the wheel or have Matco service it for you.

I think they're 2 piece. I can't be sure though until I look. There are bolts on the inner flange.

Are the bearings removable on 2 piece wheels?

They are pressed in sealed bearings. They can be replaced without going to Matco. BOB SPUDIS

Hi Jesse,
Weeping lube is OK. Side to side motion is generally not good. Look on the side of the bearings there should be a number and manufacturers name. I cannot remember if the nose wheel bearings are sealed or shielded. Shields will be metal, seals will be rubber. My preference would be for sealed as these will keep out dust etc. Check the yellow pages under bearings you should be able to find a local supplier. Do not archive.

Regards, John

to conclude this thread, I was able to drive one bearing out using a brass "chase" and a hammer. Once I removed one, I was able to complete the job using my hydraulic press. All-in-all, the job took ~ 1/2 hour.
