where can I get an aircraft appraisal? I want it free if possible.

From a cost standpoint you can go to AOPA and go through the owners section and aircraft valuations. If you are speaking of a prebuy inspection it won't be free but well worth the money you spend in most cases. If you do not belong to AOPA and it does not let you run an valuation, e-mail me and I will do it for you.
