We have a Turbocharged IO520 that has begun to blow oil out the breather.  Consumed about 3 quarts on a 4 hour trip.  Oil wqs dripping off the tail tie down.   Any ideas about the cause?

Fred,
Was just talking to my Mentor/AP of 86 years about Eisemann mags. He showed me step by step how to rebuild them. Amazing man.
My guess is that he would know the probable cause. He's a hard man to get ahold of but when I get him I'll get back to you.

Fred,
Just got off the phone with my Mentor.  He said it sounds like a typical condition of stuck rings. If you can check compression of the cylinders, you'll find one or more low compression.  If you don't want to check, he advised to drain the oil and add Marvel Mystery Oil at the rate on the can directions with the new oil. (and go a little heavy) Fly it , and in 3 or 4 hours, it should clear up.

PS. He was the late Leo Loudenschlager's <sp> personal AP/mechanic/designer
