This morning, Anne and I drove to the airport and met three friends at 7am for the first flight. Two of the friends are AP and the other is the Tech Consoler and photographer. The APs smoked over the airplane as well as me doing a very through pre-flight.

The first flight only lasted 20 minutes in the air, but that was enough to get things sorted out and land without incident.  Then it was off to breakfast, then home to sleep.  I didn't sleep all that well last night.  Later that same day I went back to the airport and flew another 70 minutes without the ground crew.  It was 97 degrees and 3000 density altitude.  Just getting used to the airplane and following along Andy Elliott's flight test plan.  It flies just like an airplane, even slipped it in for the last landing and everything is looking good so far.

I will post some videos later when I get a chance to edit them some.  Now it's off to bed because tomorrow morning is looking like a good flying day.

Flying out of KPHN is right on the Canadian border at the southern end of Lake Huron.  Really pretty and it was like the sky and the airport were all mine today.

Nicely done, Ron!  I admire the path you have chosen to flight.  You didn't do it the easy way, and I hope you reap great rewards from your personal accomplishments.

Congrats Ron!

Great choice of airports--low traffic and wonderful people.

A couple of the locals there taught me to carve my interior foam with an electric turkey carver rather than hot wire.

My Cessna 150 was based at KPHN during the Spring of 2007 as I prepared for my first solo at 14.

Tell Kathy Reaume that Sabrina says hello.

(at)Sabrina, the airport was like a private only for me yesterday both times I was out there. You are right about the people there, very helpful.
