I want to thank everyone who offered advice on transporting this plane. My wife and I drove last Thursday and Friday to Walsenburg, Colorado. Saturday, I spent all day getting the trailer ready, removing the wing, orgainizing and packing stuff, loading the wing, fuselage, and lots of boxes. Sunday morning I finished loading, and we departed for home (Tompkinsville, Ky or KTZV). I drove 55-60 mph, so the trip home took and extra day. I really enjoyed the "thumbs up" I got from many, and the interest this plane drew every time we stopped. Now to get everything unloaded, and organized so I can find what I need. I won't get time to work on the plane until January, as I'm taking a very intensive class this semester that starts in three weeks. I'm grinning though, because this plane has a new home. I talked to her on the road (like Harry Hogue --Days of Thunder) and told her that she's going to a new home, where she'll be well taken care of.
I look forward to being part of the Glasair group.
Thanks again everyone,
Darrell Doerhoff
