An hour ago I opened the hangar doors to find chaos. Chairs scattered. Boarding ladder on its side eight feet from the Nanchang. Other stuff hither and yon. Yellow scuba tank on its side on the opposite side of the hangar from where it's stands. Then the big discovery - a 3" hole punched in the belly of the aircraft.

Your right. The freshly filled scuba tank had fallen over and become a missile.

Dave King's research scientist wife, Inge, observed, "That's why those things are chained to a wall in the lab."

Lesson learned too late for me, but not for you.

Blitz,

I'm glad that you were not in there when it happened.

That sucks. When I was a kid, I remember working with my dad when acetylene tank got knocked over and hit just right. The valve got busted off and the tank went through a concrete wall, into the street and struck a car driving down the road. Just imagine being in front of that when it happened.

Although a first person report from you reporting your inside view would have been exciting to hear I would think...................................

With all that shaken going on out there, you'll need to chain yourself to the wall. Now down here in Florida, its still warm, with a sea breeze, and nothing 'under foot' to shake. Plus the ground is flat, but that's what you get living on the moving edge of a tectonic plate. You do know PHX will have beach front soon?

Well you can tell folks that patch over that hole, was - - - - battle damage.
