The diode will not affect OVM operation. Resistors
in the OVM are across the relay coil and provide
some damping action making the diode unnecessary.

Bob,
Thank-you very much for the replies. I was able to calibrate my OVMs and get them both (SD-8 Alternator, and Ground Power) installed yesterday.
I greatly appreciate all you do for our OBAM community. Without AEC I'd be lost. My electrical system installation is coming right along.
