Hi Don’t do it just keep the tank low so they can’t get much. Remember Mogas goes off in a month to 6 weeks and if the thief is presented with a locked fuel cap he might do some damage trying to get in

Maybe fuel does go off peak but my strimmer, lawn mower, generator and outboard motor have all run just fine on very old fuel - years old.

Graeme
My fuel is definitely going off!
Its going off site in fuel cans! Have noticed some stains on the floor at the side of my aircraft (from syphoning) over recent months, last weds I filled the aircraft for flight to top of the Cobra, I did not manage to fly that day due to a techie issue, on visiting the aircraft yesterday to sort out the techie (flat battery) I ran the engine for long enough to warm then refuelled and it took 20 litres, so it went somewhere, I looked under the seat to see if anyone had left me a payment but sadly not, still I did not issue them with any reward points either.
Theft is not a pleasant issue particularly from within the hanger, I will be taking a few measures to try and sort this but the locking fuel cap is the first.
Out of interest Europa do not keep them in stock and have a minimum of 2 - 3 weeks order wait list.

You might try putting one of the coil springs inside the cobra down near the elbow, they are cone shaped coil spring, you sort of wind it up and stuff it in and it springs (funnily enough) back out to lock in place, the
Coils come down to about 10mm at the centre so you cant push a hose through it, that way you will only lose a few liters at most from the cobra
Good luck,
craig

All,
Or set up an inexpensive game camera in an unobtrusive location. You can purchase them through The Sportsman's Guide ( sportsmansguide.com ), Bass Pro Shops ( basspro.com ), Cabella's ( Cabellas.com ) or your local sporting goods store. All are adjustable for photo interval and some will even capture short video clips. Most do daytime color and night B&W in infrared.
