Hey Listers,

Has anyone tried one of these pre-made RV-6/7/9 fiberglass windshield fairing yet? Seems like it could be a HUGE time and frustration saver if it fits pretty well. I'm thinking about repainting the RV-6 at some point, and the glass could use replacing as well as the bezel. This could be an option...

Matt,
Another question is how well it will seal to the canopy. Is there a chance rain water when the plane is parked outside, will leak into the interior at the front of the slider?

Matt,

I would be very surprised if it fit very well considering the differences that creep into these planes during construction, especially the RV-6's.

The other thing is that just four layers of glass over the windshield bar will start to crack very quickly from folks climbing in and out using the bar for a hand hold. I used four layers initially and very soon had to add five more to keep that area from chipping and cracking.
